Messianic Jewish Joke

Born-again Messianic Jew
Hebrew Christian

Isaac Cohen, an orthodox Jew (who does not believe in Jesus Christ), went rushing to his orthodox Rabbi, very excited.

"Rabbi, Rabbi, please help me. I have only one son. I sent him to Jerusalem to study at the Yeshiva (house of learning Judaism) to a become a good orthodox Jewish Rabbi. But, lo and behold, he comes back a born-again Messianic Jew. What a shock to my wife and me. What "TSURIS" (trouble)."

The Rabbi said, "I know just how you feel. I sympathise with you, because I also had only one son, and I also sent him to Jerusalem to study at the Yeshiva, so that he would come back as an orthodox Jewish Rabbi. But the same thing happened to him. He came back as a born-again Messianic Jew, believing in Jesus Christ."

"Oy vey, oy vey, what Tsuris. Let us go to the Synagogue and open the cupboard where the Holy Scrolls of the TORAH (5 books of Moses) are kept, and kneel down before the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel - Adonai Elohim El Shaddai - and ask him for his divine guidance."

So they went to the Synagogue, opened the cupboard of the Holy Scrolls of the TORAH, and knelt down in worshipful reverence. They said their Hebrew prayers indulging the SHEMA, Israel's great confession of faith, from Deut 6/(4-9).

Then they cried out to God.

"Oh God of our forefathers, of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel - Adonai Elohim El Shaddai.
Mr Cohen and I, good orthodox Jews, sent our only sons to Jerusalem to study at the Yeshiva. We expected them to graduate as good orthodox Jewish Rabbis. But, oy vey, oy veh, they came out as born-again Messianic Jews, believing in this man called Jesus Christ.
What Tsuris. Please speak to us and advise us how to get out of this stressful situation."

Then a loud, booming voice spoke out of the Holy Scrolls of the 5 Books of Moses, and said:-

"I am the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. I am the God of Israel - Adonai Elohim El Shaddai. I, too had an only begotton Jewish Son, and I too sent Him to Jerusalem to study and become an orthodox Jewish Rabbi......."
