Purpose for Testimonials

Some of the purposes are:-

1. Power of Testimony

There is great power resulting from giving a testimony of the blessings of God.

Relevant Scriptures

a) Revelations 12/11
“They overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;”

b) Romans 10/(8-10)
“But what does it say? 'The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,' that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

c) Mark 11/23
“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him."

d) Proverbs 18/21
“The tongue (word of testimony) has the power of life and death,”

My Comments:
A person who testifies (by spoken work or written testimony) of the blessings of God, will strengthen and confirm the blessings. It tends to close the door to the kingdom of darkness, opposing the devil from robbing God's blessings through doubts and scepticism.

2. Glory to God

Testifying to God's blessings glorifies God.

3. To encourage the weak in faith

People weak in faith will be encouraged to have more faith for their own Divine Healing, when they read testimonials of Divine Healing. I have witnessed this phenomenon myself, watching people who are sceptical, reading testimonials of Divine Healings. In a very short time, their weak faith becomes greatly increased, to receive God's blessings with miraculous results.

4. To prove Christ heals today

By reading testimonials of Divine Blessings, people will become convinced (to varying degrees) that the Lord Jesus Christ heals today, like he did about 2,000 years ago. This proves the following scripture:

Hebrews 13/8:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Other relevant scriptures (NIV)

John 14/(12-14)
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

John 16/(23-24)
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Mark 16/(17-18)
"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;" ...... "they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Psalm 103/(1-6)
Of David.

Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
